Identity Checks
Before any money changes hands, we verify the identity of every player, since Canadian law demands it and it keeps our tables honest. Below we describe the checks we run, the records we hold and the steps we take when details do not match.
A. Why we verify
Real players. Real names. Clean money.
You can play with us anywhere your local law permits. We follow Canadian rules on ID checks, age limits and anti-money laundering. Those checks confirm you are 19 or older, stop fraud and block criminal money from ever reaching our tables.
Checks run before your first deposit, alongside a geolocation check that confirms where you are playing from.
B. Record keeping and reporting duties
Records of identity checks, the documents you supply and your transactions are retained for the period that Canadian anti-money laundering law demands.
When a legal duty applies, big or suspicious transactions go to federal authorities. We are also legally forbidden to tell you that a report was filed. Our Privacy Policy covers how we safeguard your data.
C. Identity and age checks
Joining the floor? Three details come first: your full legal name, birth date, home address. Then we cross-check every one against trusted data sources.
When that match is not enough, we request documents such as:
- A valid government-issued identity document with your photo
- Proof of address: a utility invoice or a statement issued by your bank, no older than a few months, with your home address on it
- Proof that you own the card, bank account or e-wallet you fund your play with
Documents must be clear, unedited and in date. The name on them must match your account.
D. Sanctions lists and politically exposed persons
We screen players against Canadian and international sanctions lists. Anyone listed cannot hold an account.
We also screen for players who currently occupy, or have lately occupied, a senior public role, and for people closely linked to them. A match does not bar you from playing, but it triggers additional checks and tighter monitoring of your transactions.
E. Source of funds
If you make larger deposits or withdrawals, or your play does not match your profile, we may ask for evidence of the source of your funds, such as payslips, bank statements, or documents connected to an inheritance or a sale.
We only ask for what the situation needs, and we handle every file in confidence.
F. When verification fails
If documents are missing, illegible or do not match, we hold withdrawals and may suspend play until the issue is settled.
If we find false documents, fraud or a sanctions match, we shut the account. Any remaining funds are handled as Canadian law directs. Account Terms set out the full rules.
G. Ongoing monitoring
Verification does not end once you pass. We continue to monitor account activity, such as deposit patterns, changes to payment methods and unusual withdrawal requests.
Withdrawals go back through a method on our withdrawal list, such as Interac e-Transfer, Visa, Apple Pay, Online Banking / Trustly or eCheck. When your details change, update them so your checks stay current.
